The National Hydrogen Research Centre for Metallic Materials invites you to the 5th Swerim Hydrogen Gas Seminar – Process and Materials March 17–18, 2026 at Clarion Hotel Sense in Luleå.
Program
Hydrogen Gas Seminar
This seminar brings together leading representatives from industry, academia, and public organizations to address key topics in hydrogen development. The program covers:
- Strategies for fossil-free competitiveness and the role of hydrogen in industrial transformation
- Technical advances in hydrogen production, application, and integration
- Material challenges, including hydrogen embrittlement and innovative barrier technologies
- Insights from ongoing projects and international perspectives
On the second day, we start with two parallel technical sessions at Claion, and after lunch, we go to Swerim for the inauguration ceremony of our unique H₂ autoclave and visits to our demo halls.
Dinner March 17, Cape Wild
In the evening of March 17, we invite you to join us for a special dinner at Cape Wild. We will travel together by bus from Clarion to this beautiful venue, where you will enjoy dinner in a traditional Lappish tent (kåta), meet reindeer and moose, and experience the stunning northern surroundings. Please note that the number of seats is limited, so make sure to indicate in your registration if you would like to participate.

Accommodation information
Please note that hotel availability in Luleå is limited during the dates of the seminar. To support our participants, Swerim has pre-booked a number of single rooms at three centrally located hotels for the night of 17–18 March 2026.
Participants will receive access to the booking links in the registration confirmation email.
The pre-booked rooms are available until 17 February 2026. After this date, any unreserved rooms will be released to general sale by the hotels. Cancellations of booked rooms can be made directly with the respective hotel up to 14 days before arrival.
Cost and registration
The seminar is free of charge for members in the Arena for Hydrogen in Process and Materials. For others, the seminar costs SEK 3,500 excluding VAT.
Hydrogen as energy carrier has great potential to transform metallurgical, automotive and energy industries towards carbon neutrality. Latest updates on industrial and research initiatives will be presented at the seminar.
